Create a stack of acedemic books image using cool photoshop features.

[1]- First of all open a new documents, choose size 400x400 pixel. 96 resolution and RGB color mode

[2]- Now create a new shape 

help by the Rectangular marquee
tool

[3]- Select the Linear Gradient tool and choose the color Blue and White as shown below

[4]- Now create a new layer1

 from the layer window

[5]- Fill the color help by the Gradient 

tool now press the
Ctrl+D

[6]- Now press the Ctrl+T and set this shape 

according to book
cover with hold on "Ctrl" key 

. After that press the Enter key on
your key board

[7]- Right click on this layer1 

and select the Duplicate Layer

[8]- Drag this shape help by the Move tool and use

 the Burn
tool for darkness , as shown below

[9]- Now create a new layer2

 from the layer window

[10]- Look below and create a new shape now fill 

with any nice
color help by the Linear Gradient tool

[11]- Now create new shape and fill the

 Color with Gradient
tool after that press 

the Ctrl+D to deselect

[12]- Press the Ctrl+E for merge all

layers now change the Background
color

[13]- Now your image

should look like this

[14]- Double click on this layer1 and select the

Drop Shadow
from the layer style now

 use the following settings

[15]- Press the Ctrl+J for copy paste and change

this color
for Book cover and now your image 

has been completed
